The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather conditions, anywhere on or near the Earth where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. The system provides critical capabilities to military, civil and commercial users around the world. It is maintained by the United States government and is freely accessible to anyone with a GPS receiver.

Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) is the use of radio waves to read and capture information stored on a tag attached to an object.  A tag can be read from up to several feet away and does not need to be within direct line-of-sight of the reader to be tracked. 

The concept of biometric identity verification is not new at all: it has been around for thousands of years. Even in the way we think about it today, it has more than a decade-long history.

Biometrics today means human physiological characteristics read by specifically designed machines in order to determine or verify the person's identity.
